Contact NYC Paycheck Calculator

One email address reaches the NYC Paycheck Calculator Team. Corrections to a rate or a calculation are read first, because a wrong number is the one thing this site cannot afford.

Email the team

Response time
Corrections and calculation issues are checked against the primary source first and usually answered within two to three business days. General messages can take longer.
What happens to your email
It sits in an ordinary inbox and is used only to answer you. We do not add you to a list, sell your address, or share it. The privacy policy explains the rest.

What we can help with

  • A rate, threshold, or contribution limit that looks wrong or out of date
  • A guide page that contradicts the primary source it links to
  • A calculation that does not match the methodology we publish
  • The calculator failing to load, or giving a result on a device or browser where it behaves oddly
  • An accessibility problem on any page
  • Press, research, or data questions about NYC paycheck figures

What we cannot help with

Being clear about this saves everyone an email. The team publishes estimates and explanations, and does not act as anyone’s accountant.

  • Personal tax advice, filing help, or questions about your own return
  • Payroll disputes with an employer, or correcting a pay stub
  • Salary negotiation, benefits, or financial planning decisions
  • New York State or City account, refund, or penalty questions
  • Estimating tax you owe, or reviewing a completed return

For anything on that second list, a CPA or enrolled agent who can see your full return is the right place to go.

Reporting a calculation problem

If a figure looks wrong, these five details let us reproduce it in one pass instead of five emails:

  1. 1The annual gross salary you entered.
  2. 2The pay frequency you selected.
  3. 3Your federal filing status in the calculator.
  4. 4Any pre-tax deduction per paycheck you entered.
  5. 5The number you expected, and the source you are comparing it against.

Before you write

Most “the number is wrong” messages turn out to be one of three things: a pay stub that uses actual W-4 and IT-2104 elections rather than standard deductions, a pre-tax benefit left out of the pre-tax field, or an assumption the methodology already documents. The methodology page and the FAQ cover all three, and the about page explains how a correction is verified once it arrives.
